Victor Hugo Duran was born in Tlalnepantla, Mexico and raised in Los Angeles, CA.

He holds a BA in Film and Television Production from UCLA and an MFA in Film Directing from Columbia University.

His work is heavily influenced by the working class Latinx communities where he came of age. His short films have screened at film festivals across the globe including the LALIFF, Tribeca, Los Angeles, Slamdance and Guanajuato film festivals. Victor’s films have screened on PBS as a part of the “Film School Shorts” series and have been distributed by Future Shorts Ltd., and Seed & Spark.

He has extensive experience in creating engaging and thought provoking content. Victor's worked as a content creator for adidas, Skillshare, Sundance, GoPro and is currently a Senior Video Editor at Zendesk.

He lives in Oakland, CA.
